Shaping the Story of a Sport: Padel 22’s Defining Moments of 2025

2025 has been a transformative year for padel worldwide, and for our clients who continue to shape the sport’s global narrative. From landmark tournaments and record-breaking media visibility to major fundraising rounds, international expansion, and first-of-their-kind events, the year has demonstrated what happens when strategic communications meet world-class innovation. At Padel 22, we’re proud to have amplified these milestones across global media, supported long-term business growth, and positioned our clients at the heart of padel’s unprecedented international momentum. Below, we highlight the 5 defining moments of the year that we’ve been fortunate to play a part in.

1. RacquetX - The Week That Rewrote Racquet Sports in America

In Miami, RacquetX hosted a record-breaking edition of its flagship festival, a global celebration of sport, business, culture, and innovation. At Padel 22, we played a part in the communications strategy across both the event launch and post-event storytelling for the Padel element, securing widespread international media coverage and cementing RacquetX’s position as the global hub for racquet-sport innovation.

March 2025 also marked the inaugural America’s Racquets Week. With RacquetX at its core, Miami welcomed the first-ever U.S. Premier Padel, the Miami Open (with Publix Super Markets), a sold-out Property + Padel, and more. It was a defining moment for America’s post-tennis, and post-peak pickleball, racquet sports era.

2. Playtomic Fundraise - A €70M Fundraise That Made Global Headlines

The world’s leading racquet sports technology platform, Playtomic, demonstrated its ambition in 2025 by unveiling a €70M fundraising round during RacquetX — one of the most significant investment announcements in the sport’s history.

At Padel 22, we delivered a global communications strategy that secured coverage across top-tier international business media, including Reuters and Sports Business Journal, highlighting Playtomic’s valuation and U.S. expansion plans. The announcement generated 33 pieces of coverage and over 3.31 million estimated views, firmly positioning Playtomic as the industry’s technology leader.

3. Anglo American Padel Cup - Padel’s ‘Ryder Cup’ moment arrived in London

In October, Padel 22 led strategy and execution for the debut of the Anglo American Padel Cup (AAPC) — a first-of-its-kind international event bringing Team GB and Team USA together in London.

Hosted at The Padel Hub North London, with sponsorship from Playtomic and Babolat, our integrated communications approach delivered:

Our work ensured the AAPC became a transformative platform for international competition, cultural exchange, and global padel visibility. You can view the media summary of the biggest Padel event to-date here: https://www.padel22.com/blog/4.

4. Pure Padel - Building The UK’s Fastest Growing Operator

We also supported Pure Padel’s UK expansion with the launch of Nottingham’s first indoor club, a landmark seven‑court venue in a beautifully restored Grade I listed city‑centre building, featured in Made in Nottingham. This opening marked a key milestone in Pure Padel’s rapid national growth, which includes clubs across Manchester, Darlington, Stockport, Leeds, and now Nottingham, with further premium indoor venues planned in Birmingham, Glasgow, Solihull, and York. Beyond providing world-class facilities, Pure Padel has positioned itself as a lifestyle destination, combining sport, community, and social engagement to elevate padel in the UK.

Alongside this, we amplified the story of founder Sammy Arora in About Time Magazine, highlighting his journey from discovering padel abroad to building the UK’s fastest-growing padel operator at just 24. Sammy’s vision, focused on accessibility, community, and premium design, has been central to Pure Padel’s identity, creating a “pay-to-play” model that welcomes both casual and competitive players. By leading narrative strategy, media relations, and brand positioning across these features, we strengthened both the company’s regional presence and its leadership profile, showcasing Pure Padel as a front-leading force shaping the future of British padel.

5. Hexagon Cup - A Defining Moment for the ‘New Padel World’

To end the year on a high, in December, Padel 22 assisted in bringing media to a landmark pre-Christmas press conference in London for what is arguably professional padel’s biggest structural announcement to date.

At Outernet London, alongside the International Padel Federation (FIP) and 54 (of LIV Golf and global sports investment), the Generali Hexagon Cup unveiled the Hexagon World Series — padel’s official global teams circuit, launching in 2026. Positioned alongside Premier Padel, the four-stop global tour will take place across multiple cities worldwide and is backed by major international stakeholders, including JSW Group (PadelPark India), The Padel Hub (UK), Epic Padel Inc (USA), and others.

Sitting alongside the Anglo American Padel Cup, the announcement marked one of London’s most significant padel moments of 2025 — reinforcing the city’s growing role at the heart of the sport’s global evolution.

The New Padel World is growing up — and London was once again central to the story.

Looking Ahead

2025 has demonstrated the power of sustained media visibility, smart positioning, and authentic storytelling. From global partnerships and club launches to investor milestones, international tournaments, and industry leadership, our clients are not just part of padel’s growth — they are defining it.

With major campaigns, new openings, and strategic announcements already planned, 2026 is set to be an even bigger year for the sport.
